TRANSLOG Connect Congress | 22-23 NOVEMBER 2017
Extensive Speaker Lineup
.
TRANSLOG Connect is known for its dynamic conference program, which enables delegates to gain up-to-date insights from some of the region’s leading logistics experts. The program was designed with the support of a Program Advisory Committee to ensure a relevant and high quality agenda. 2017’s topics were highlighting the major challenges of the future combined with a comprehensive overview of trends and technologies.

How to adjust your strategy to the dramatically changing customer expectations? To what extent will innovations disrupt your supply chain? Why is Big Data crucial to market intelligence? What are the opportunities for 3D printing in the future?
.
All these questions and much more were discussed and contemplated by representatives of different industry players: manufacturers, retailers, solution providers and of course the famous university professor: Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kummer from the Vienna University of Economics. He has become an essential part of TRANSLOG; so undoubtedly, he was included in the program, as the chairman of the congress. Furthermore, we heard great talks form other remarkable professionals such as Stefan Putzlocher, Daimler’s Head of Global Warehouse and Facility Planning; Gökhan Cakmak, Oriflame’s Global Logistics Director or João Monteiro, Managing Director of LogIndex AG a subsidiary of Kuehne + Nagel.
Extended range of solution providers
Besides all the knowledge and inspiration brought by the event, TRANSLOG is also a well-known match maker between end users and solution providers. From freight forwarding and transportation services through warehousing and warehouse management systems to intralogistics and packaging solutions, one can find nearly everything related to logistics and supply chain management among the exhibitors. This year a special emphasis was put on packaging providers, enabling participants to explore an even wider selection in this segment.
Moreover, a significant number of new companies were present at the event, which are specialized in automation, material handling and intralogistics. TRANSLOG managed to further extend its selection of available solutions with these new segments and making the exhibition area more diverse for visitors.
Making the networking procedure even more effective, the Meeting Scheduler platform enabled delegates to get in contact with leading solution providers.

Recognizing Excellence in the CEE Region
Year-by-year during TRANSLOG Connect, two companies are awarded with a special recognition: the CEE Logistics & SCM Excellence Award. This year was no different, as winners in two categories were crowned for the 5th time with this prestigious award. An international jury, consisting of leading experts from the region, evaluated the applicant’s projects based on the level of innovation, ability to transfer the concept, sustainability, cost-effectiveness and customer value-contribution.
In the manufacturer category, Rigips Saint Gobain Austria received the award of excellence for their supply chain optimization project. Their highly effective information system provides real time supply chain monitoring for all parties, resulting in nearly 99,98% just in time deliveries.
In the solution provider category, L-mobile Hungary was recognized as the winner. Their project called “Trailer Yard / Dock Management Solution” clearly impressed the jury. Their warehouse software provides easier, faster and more transparent internal information flow for the customer, leading to improved efficiency and cost reduction.
Following a very tight race, the jury announced the winners during the award ceremony and cocktail reception on the first day of TRANSLOG. The winners also had the chance to present their award winning concept on stage in front of the audience.
Behind the scenes
Each year, participants of TRANSLOG Connect are given the unique chance to visit and experience various manufacturing and logistics facilities of market leading organizations. Based on last year’s successes the organizers kept the tradition alive. Attendees could choose from three plants this year: Bridgestone, Zwack Unicum and Dreher Breweries. The fully automated facility of Bridgestone in Tatabánya certainly impressed the audience from the technological point of view. However, in case someone was rather interested in a more traditional approach, the two Hungarian beverage manufacturers were ideal options for a plant excursion, combined with product tasting.
